Limanul Resort is located in the village of Chilia Veche, in the northern part of the Danube Delta, in a stunning landscape made up largely of unique species of trees, flowers, birds and fish.

Set on the right bank of the Chilia branch of the Danube – the best-preserved Delta in Europe and an important UNESCO World Heritage site – right next to the Roșca Buhaiova Nature Reserve, home to the most spectacular colony of wild pelicans on the continent, Limanul Resort is accessible both by water and by land.

About Chilia Veche

Chilia Veche is a picturesque village hidden in the heart of the Delta, in the north of Tulcea county. It is the oldest and largest human settlement in the Delta, host to the famous Chilia Fortress (built in 1479) and to the second-largest church in Romania. Once a Greek settlement called Achillea — which led many to believe this is where the body of the Greek hero Achilles rests — the village proudly gave its name to the Chilia branch of the Danube.

Getting there

By boat: from the Port of Tulcea, enter Canal 36 and continue for approx. 60 km to the Port of Chilia.

By car: take the ferry from the Port of Tulcea to Tudor Vladimirescu, then continue approx. 70 km on the DC1 road to Chilia Veche.
